Literature Text

You clenched and unclenched your hands as the man only feet away from you grinned like a Cheshire cat. Ten years ago you would have hugged him or punched him in the gut, but now you wanted to kill him or run in the opposite direction.
"(F/n),you sure have grown up into something beautiful." He commented with another step in your direction. You slit your eyes at him as Levi came to stand directly in front of you.
"Who the fuck are you?" Levi demanded to know. The man's disinterested gaze looked down at Levi with clear distaste. "I said, Who. The. Fuck. Are. You?" Each word held enough venom to kill a horse.
"I am (F/n)'s fiancé, of course." Levi's steely eyed gaze turned back to you as you glared at the man. Levi knew from your eyes that you had no intentions of being with this shithead.
"That was years ago. I left." You spat in a cold tone. Everyone began to gather around and Erwin came to stand beside you.
"You can never leave the family, you of all people should know that. You still have to take it daily, don't you? That means you never left. You can never escape whether you join this damned part of the military or not." He teased openly. You wanted to cut his green eyes right out of his skull.
"What the hell is going on?" Levi demanded from you this time.
"Your father says hello and can't wait for you to return." The man added.
"There is no way I am going back there, Adonis, now, tell me, how did you find me?" You walked around Levi and stood only three feet away from Adonis.
"You left little hints here and there, but doing things for your dear Commander Erwin made things hard for us to pinpoint your location. But, when we saw an odd woman from the Scouting Legion buying some of our special product from a hired peddler, we decided to follow and figure out why she of all people would need it. It led us to you." He smirked while you cocked your jaw to the side.
"I'll die from withdraw before I return." Holding your chin up, you pulled out a blade from your 3DMG. "You should know that my skills with blades haven't dimmed in the least." Expertly you twirled it before pointing it at his neck with a raised eyebrow.
"Tch." The familiar noise did not pull your eyes away from Adonis, but Levi pulling you back did. "She is mine so she can't go back."
"Sir..." Levi grabbed the front of your shirt and pulled you down to his level; slamming his lips against yours, you dropped the blade to the ground. Everything around you went silent before he pulled away with a glare in Adonis' direction. You straightened yourself with a burning hot face.
"You sure seem confident. You shouldn't touch what isn't yours." Adonis snarled as he came to stand only inches away from Levi.
"Funny, I was going to tell you the same thing, shit face." You knew Levi had great skills, but you knew Adonis would not be new to a good fight.
"You must have known for a while, why come now?" You demanded to know as Erwin attempted to get between Levi and Adonis with little triumph.
"Like I said, doing stuff for your precious Commander Erwin made it hard to pinpoint you. Staying here allowed our spies to find you and your patterns." Adonis did not bother to look up at you as he had the world's longest glaring match with Levi who seemed to be winning with his signature glare.
Erwin finally parted them and sighed with slight relief. "Let us take this dispute to my office."
"Why, so your precious soldiers don't learn that your 'Captain' is an heir to the Wall Titans?" Some of the cadets froze while others looked confused. Levi's eyes darkened in recognition of the name, but when he looked to you there was no sign of malice.
Turning back to Adonis, Levi grabbed your arm saying, "She is not his captain. She is MY Captain." He began to pull you away and towards the main building.
"Levi..." You started but drifted off unable to continue.
"Tch, you should have said something to me. How the fuck am I supposed to get rid of the bastard when I didn't know he was coming?" He snapped. You blinked in confusion.
    "Huh?"
"Don't think anything is changing. You are still going to spend every free minute you have with me. You can even explain the presence of that retard following us." Regardless of the current situation, you found yourself laughing at this.
Once everyone was seated in Erwin's office things...calmed?...down. Well, until Hanji burst in and glared at the new man while hugging you tightly. "First you get almost eaten by an Aberrant, then touched by this short man, and now this wannabe mafia guy is here! My poor (F/n)!" You tensed under the vice like hug before Levi pulled her off with some force.
"Almost eaten by an Aberrant?" Adonis looked at you with concern while you cocked your jaw to the side.
"An Aberrant is an abnormal Titan. I may have cut myself out of its throat after saving a cadet." You shrug as you put on your poker face.
"Speaking of that, remind me to give Springer dinning commons cleaning for three months." Levi said as he took a seat on the arm of your chair. Hanji stood bouncing on her heels off to the side while Erwin leaned against his desk and Adonis sat across from you.
"(F/n), why are you out there risking your life?" Adonis' eyes softened as he looked into your (e/c) ones.
"Like it would be any different back home? Either way people die and I kill." You retorted in a bland tone.
"We could have gotten married and then you wouldn't have had to kill. You could have stayed behind me if you wanted..."
"I was your gateway into the family, but you apparently managed to get a good position even though I left." You directed your eyes to the tattoo on his inner wrist.
"As diligent as ever I see. Our engagement wasn't just for me to get into the family, if it was I would have asked to marry one of your older sisters." You rolled your eyes at this comment. "If you don't believe me, fine, but at least tell me why you left? Being the third daughter of the (L/n) family would have ensured you a high position in the Wall Titans and anything you could have ever wanted." His green eyes searched your face for an answer while his blond hair swayed back and forth from the breeze coming through the open window.
"I left because that life is not really a way to live. Selling drugs, dealing with the Military Police and nobles, killing people for no real reason, human trafficking; none of it is living, Adonis. Where does it get us in life? Here, in the Survey Corps, I have a reason to fight, to kill, to do what I do. I can help humanity move towards a brighter future and help the people. It gives me a purpose that being in the Wall Titans never did. I never wanted to marry you and live my life either killing by your side or waiting patiently in your bed." You spoke with a poker face on, but an honest filled tone showing the slightest spark of passion hidden in it.
The room went silent and only the breeze through the open window could be heard. At last Adonis stood, "You were always different from us. The way you looked out over the walls and talked of freedom always made us worry about your sanity. It kind of hurts to know I loved a girl who felt nothing towards me, but I understand now. At least visit your father; what you told me is something he should hear in person." He gave you his trademark smile, but you saw the pain in his green eyes.
You stood and pulled him into a hug regardless of the protesting grunt coming from Levi behind you. "I liked you enough to be your friend, but nothing more." You told him in a voice hinting at emotion. He hugged back and after the ten second mark Levi got between you. With a glare at Adonis, he wrapped his arm around your waist. You looked down at Levi with a raise of your eyebrows.
"Is this the man you love?" Adonis smirked with the hateful tone he used in making deals with competition.
"This is my superior Lance Corporal Levi Ackerman..."
    "She is mine."
"That does not answer my question." His smirk turned into an evil grin while Levi shot him a horrid glare that chilled you to the bones regardless of it not being directed at you.
"I think you should leave." Erwin stood up straight and put a hand on Adonis' shoulder.
"Alright..." He started but you cut him off before he could say anymore.
"If you, or anyone else from the Wall Titans, come back here I will kill you on the spot." A dark, evil grin you hadn't used in years formed on your full lips as the scariest look anyone at the Survey Corps had ever seen from you sparkled in your eyes. Adonis let his face go slack before nodding.

You knew you needed to see your father soon, but you also knew Levi would not let you go alone. You needed a foolproof plan. You already had the assistance of Erwin and Hanji, who promised to fill his office with any documents they could, but you needed extra insurance. You got your dinner early and sat down at the very table you sat at on your first day.
The cadets looked at you with incredulous faces as you took an empty seat beside Armin. "Is everything alright Captain (F/n)?" Mikasa, who sat across from you, asked.
"As alright as can be for the time being." You replied in your calm tone as you looked over the cadets at the table. Sasha, Eren, Mikasa, Krista, and Ymir were across from you with only Connie, Jean, empty seats, and Armin on your side. "I actually need a favor from you all."
"What could you possibly need from us?" Eren looked at you with big, curious, green eyes that held a hint of fear.
"I'm not going to take your organs or stab a needle into your arms, damn." You sighed before running your hand through your bangs and shaking your head so that your ponytail swayed back and forth.
"I-I-I didn't mean anything like that!" Eren quickly shouted out.
"I'm sorry if he just insulted you." Mikasa said before pinching Eren's arm hard.
"If any of you have a problem with me being the daughter of the Wall Titans leader, say so now, and I will resign as captain." You kept your voice level while meeting each and every pair of eyes.
Silence floated over the table as each cadet stared back at you without objection. "Glad you guys don't want me to leave." Happiness filled your tone and a full smile formed on your lips. Everyone smiled with you until it turned into a wicked grin. "Now I need all of you to do whatever you possibly can to keep Corporal Levi busy tomorrow. Make sure he does not know I am gone." Everyone gave quick nods.
"Anything for you." Mikasa gave you a small smile that you returned.
"Where will you be if not here?" Jean asked with concern in his eyes.
"If I told you I would have to kill you." You replied with that evil smirk that chilled their entire beings.
"Why would you ask her something like that? If the Corporal can't known obviously we can't either!" Eren snickered as Jean's face turned slightly red.
"You want me to knock that stupid grin off of your face, Jaeger?" Jean snapped back and raised a fist up.
"You two..." You warned. They immediately stopped and began to eat.
"You are so amazing Mama (F/n)." Sasha cheered with pieces of potato flying out of her full mouth.
"That is disgusting; chew with your mouth closed and wipe that off the table." You handed her a napkin while showing clear distaste in her table manners.
"You really are like a mother." Armin said in a shy tone. You turned to him and brushed your fingers through his blond hair like you would a toddler's.
"If you shitty brats didn't act like brats she wouldn't have to." Levi snapped as he took the open spot on your right, shooting Armin a glare so that he would back away from your touch.
"I thought you refused to sit with cadets?" You glanced over at him with curiosity in your (e/c) eyes.
"Tch, I can't simply leave you here alone with our brats." He narrowed his eyes at all of the cadets who seemed to freeze at their superior's arrival.
"So they are our brats now? I thought all that was a joke because you were pissed..."
"Which kid is which then?" Connie asked.
"Springer, dinning commons cleaning three months." Levi spat out as he glared at the shaved headed cadet.
"Y-Yessir!" He quivered under the weight of the glare.
"Connie will be the small troublemaker. He is cute but troublesome." You pointed at him with a small smile. "Sasha will be the glutton child who gets her hand smacked all the time for taking food." The table began to snicker at this.
"Ymir is the protective older sister of Histo-" You cut yourself of knowing not many knew of Krista's true identity. "Protective older sister of Krista. Krista is the shy girl who seems sweet but hides her true feelings in a diary." Krista and Ymir looked at you with surprise, but a narrowed look told them to dare say something to you about it.
"Jean and Eren are fraternal twins who bicker and fight over everything because they secretly love their other half." Everyone laughed at this, Levi's laugh being nothing but little snickers. "Mikasa is the oldest daughter and the quiet moody one who hates her daddy." More laughs and even Mikasa got a little louder with her laughs.
You turned to Armin who sat looking at you with a big smile and sparkling sky blue eyes. "Armin is the smart one and the parents' favorite because of how cute, smart, and polite he is." You pinched his cheek causing him to blush and Levi to grunt in disapproval.
"Papa Levi is a strict father who doesn't openly admit he cares about his kids and likes to make scenes in public with Mama." You added before laughing at the slight flush in Levi's cheeks.
"I am the calm and collected Mama (F/n) who doesn't take crap and does her best to take care of her kids and crazy..." You looked at Levi unsure what to call him.
"Husband. And I'm not crazy." He wrapped his arm around your waist for maybe the millionth time that day. You removed his arm much to his disapproval.
"Don't forget Aunt Hanji!" Hanji threw her arms around you from behind. The cadets laughed and Levi cursed.
"Don't become crazy like Aunt Shitty Glasses." Levi scowled before punching Hanji in the ribs. The table was full of laughs by this point and everyone in the dining commons seemed to be watching. You all may have gotten back from an expedition where lives were lost, but you were all smiling and happy.
"And that's our dysfunctional family!" You laughed your true, whole-hearted, happy laugh as the biggest smile you ever had filled your face.
You had a dysfunctional family here in the Survey Corps.
    You had a family here.
You would not go back, but stay right here.
